Job summary

Carter Day International, Inc. in Minneapolis seeks an Engineering Designer and Drafter to help advance product development and documentation.

You will convert legacy drawings to modern 3D models in SolidWorks, create new parts and assemblies, and support manufacturing with ECOs and updated manuals. You will collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing and other Engineers, conduct hands-on testing in the R&D facility, and help transition from 2D CAD to 3D CAD while maintaining rigorous documentation

Qualifications

• Minimum mechanical engineering degree with 3–4 years of drafting and design experience.
• Experience with process equipment is desirable in the agribusiness or petrochemical industries.
• Experience with SolidWorks and moving from 2D to 3D CAD.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve product designs and assemblies.
• Convert paper drawings to 3D SolidWorks models.
• Perform hands-on testing in the R&D facility.
• Create customer-specific documentation.
• Support manufacturing with ECOs and part configurations.
• Collaborate with Sales and Manufacturing on new product development.
• Maintain engineering manuals and library.
