Job summary

A leading solutions provider in Harrodsburg, Kentucky seeks a Certified Drafting Technician to manage drafting documents and support engineering teams. Responsibilities include maintaining drafting procedures, managing drawing requests, and verifying as-built drawings. The ideal candidate has over 3 years of engineering experience and proficiency in AutoCAD. This position may require weekend coverage occasionally.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Drafting Technician is required.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and execute documented drafting policies and procedures.
• Organize and manage drafting room.
• Manage drawing requests and checked-out drawings.
• Train and support drafting systems.
• Verify and modify as-built drawings through inspections.
• Convert SolidWorks models to 2D drawings.
• Engage Engineering teams for drawing management.

Job description

Manage drafting documents and services for the client including storage, creation, and modification of electronic and physical drawings, support field verifications, support 3D printing, and maintaining general drafting supplies and equipment.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Maintain and execute the documented drafting policies and procedures
• Drafting room organization and management
• Manage drawing requests, checked-out drawings, etc. following IA policy
• Provide training & support for drafting systems
• Verification and modification of as-built drawings through field inspections
• Conversion of SolidWorks models to 2D drawings
• Engage Engineering teams for cohesive drawing management

Work Hours:

This position may require periodic weekend team coverage.

Required Education and Experience:

• Certified Drafting Technician or equivalent
• 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)

Required Skills:

• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Ability to field verify drawings, specifically facility related
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently under general scope
• Ability to adhere to procedures & guidelines
