Location: Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid – 3 days/week in office)

Schedule: Full-time

Travel: Local field/substation visits (~10%, mileage reimbursed)

We’re seeking an Engineering Design Technician to support substation capital projects in the Cincinnati area. This hybrid role combines in-office collaboration with occasional field visits and offers an opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure projects in the utilities sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and revise engineering drawings using AutoCAD
• Support substation design and compliance-related projects (e.g., SPCC, FAC-008)
• Perform moderate-complexity design tasks based on sketches and instructions
• Assist with engineering calculations and documentation
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines and field teams to support project execution
• Provide technical guidance and contribute to problem resolution
• May check and review the work of junior designers

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology
• AutoCAD experience required
• Prior experience in substation design or the utilities industry preferred
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and team collaboration skills
• Comfortable with occasional local travel using a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
