ABEC seeks an Engineering & Design Manager to lead a global team of Electrical Engineers, Designers, and Team Leads, driving innovation and high engineering standards.

You will oversee electrical system design, ensure on-time, on-budget delivery, and provide hands-on technical guidance to improve safety, scalability, and manufacturability while collaborating across global functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with Electrical emphasis preferred.
• Experience leading engineering teams in complex, project-based environments.
• Strong expertise in electrical systems, power distribution, controls, and instrumentation.
• Experience delivering engineered systems in industrial or regulated settings.
• Ability to collaborate across global teams and external partners.

What You’ll Do

Lead, Build & Inspire

• Lead and grow a global team of Electrical Engineers, Designers, and Team Leads.


• Champion a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous development.


• Expand team capabilities by strategically leveraging third‑party engineering partners.


• Align global teams under clear priorities while supporting regional execution needs.

Drive Technical Excellence

• Oversee the design and execution of complex electrical systems, including power distribution, control panels, instrumentation, and infrastructure.


• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.


• Provide hands‑on technical guidance, reviewing and refining designs for safety, scalability, and manufacturability.


• Partner cross‑functionally to align engineering execution with project milestones and customer expectations.

Elevate Quality & Innovation

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering quality, reduce rework, and improve delivery predictability.


• Standardise electrical architectures, design practices, and engineering workflows across a global footprint.


• Build and maintain robust engineering standards, libraries, and reference designs.


• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Service teams to optimise designs for real‑world performance and reliability.

Shape Strategy & Collaboration

• Partner with Project Management, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, and other functions to deliver competitive, cutting‑edge solutions.


• Manage and evolve relationships with external engineering partners to maximise capacity and quality.


• Help define and execute the long‑term electrical engineering strategy to support ABEC’s growth and scalability.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, with a strong preference for Electrical. Other engineering disciplines may be considered based on relevant experience and qualifications.


• Proven success leading engineering teams in complex, project‑based environments.


• Strong technical expertise in electrical systems and the confidence to guide design decisions.


• Experience delivering engineered systems in industrial, regulated, or high‑performance environments.


• Ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines and global teams.


• Experience with power distribution, controls, instrumentation, or industrial equipment design.


• Experience managing distributed teams and external partners is a plus.
