Job summary

Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company, part of the PPL Corporation family, seek an intern to gain hands-on experience in the utility industry under close supervision. This internship offers challenging assignments, networking opportunities, and a chance to learn from energy industry professionals.

You will support drafting, design, and documentation tasks across projects, while learning essential safety rules and practices.

Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in a technical field (Engineering, Electronics Technology, CAD/CADD or related).
Minimum 2.50 GPA.

Responsibilities

Learn OSHA and company safety rules, procedures, and practices.
Assist employees in carrying out work assignments.
Develop core drafting/design fundamentals including interpreting and creating basic distribution drawings.
Assist with assembling design packages, managing records, and maintaining accurate project documentation.
Adhere to procedures for the administration, storage, tracking, and retrieval of company documents.
Assist with the coordination of design for new company facilities with outside agencies, utilities, customers, and contractors.
Communicate through verbal and written reports.
Perform work in a responsible and cooperative manner to facilitate a positive working environment.
Clean and maintain orderly supplies and equipment within the work area.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
