Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Project Coordinator to drive end-to-end project execution in a manufacturing environment. You will coordinate internal resources across engineering, sales, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and program management, while engaging third-party vendors to keep scopes, timelines, and budgets aligned.

The role requires strong communication, cost-analysis skills, and the ability to work across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years in project coordination or related roles.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Experience reviewing BOMs, cost estimates, or manufacturing cost data.
  • Experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, or industrial seating industries preferred.
  • Experience supporting product development or NPI programs in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with PM tools such as MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Asana, or Trello preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency for cost analysis and reporting (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH) preferred.
  • Exposure to stage-gate / phase-gate development processes (APQP, PPAP) and engineering change management (ECR/ECN) preferred.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience preferred.
  • Customer-focused approach, with the ability to balance internal and external stakeholder needs.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the ability to engage cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proactive, self-starter mindset with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through.
  • Effective problem-solver who can anticipate issues and drive them to resolution.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Compare estimated and standard costs against actual material costs to identify variances.
  • Provide insight on how cost variances impact product pricing.
  • Serve as the coordination point for engineering change requests and notices, managing intake, routing, and status tracking.
