Job summary

HDR is seeking a Commercial Manager to oversee contract administration, risk management, and project controls across multiple architecture/engineering projects. You will coordinate with project teams, manage subcontracts, and ensure compliance with client requirements.

Responsibilities include monitoring change orders, preparing reports, and supporting claims resolution while maintaining HDR’s commitment to quality and collaboration across locations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Architecture/Engineering, Design-Build, P3, project management, construction, project controls or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, business, law or equivalent.
• Knowledge of contracting practices in relevant jurisdictions, and of change orders and contract administration.
• Experience with project controls, project management and estimating software.
• Ability to work in a high-performing team and deliver quality outcomes.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Commitment to HDR values and quality standards.
• Willingness to teach, lead and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Contract management: administer subcontracts and ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Risk management: develop and monitor risk registers and mitigation plans.
• Document control: ensure proper documentation and procedures are followed.
• Dispute resolution: monitor claims and support resolution efforts.
• Project accounting: review cost models and assist invoicing.
• Scheduling: coordinate with project controls on schedules and risks.
