Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Technical Engineering Collaboration Specialist to join the Applied Engineering team. You will act as a go-to expert, collaborating with engineers and researchers to deliver technical input and drive strategic projects that power America's nuclear and energy future.

The role requires a BS in a technical field (or advanced degrees) with several years of relevant experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field and 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree and 2 years; or a PhD and 2 years.
  • Level 4: Bachelor of Science degree and 9 years; or Master's degree and 6 years; or PhD and 4 years.
  • Must obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance; U.S. citizenship.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to provide technical input.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert to offer solutions for facility managers, engineers, and researchers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with engineers and operators.
  • Use data analytic tools to solve complex technical issues.
  • Develop graphical interfaces and models with various software.
  • Prepare Technical Evaluations or ECARs as applicable.
  • Support procurement activities for capital or other systems equipment.
  • Provide technical direction on proposals and strategic ventures.
  • Exercise independent judgment on Engineering/BEA/DOE requirements.
