Job summary

American Tower offers a Co-Op experience in which students explore civil- or structural-focused engineering within a corporate setting. Interns rotate into core structural engineering with analysis or civil engineering, gaining hands-on experience with structural analysis software and guidance from licensed professionals and senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a 4–5-year college Engineering degree program required, with a civil and/or structural engineering focus preferred.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• Proficient with computer software programs, including AutoCAD and Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
• Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Work within existing processes to correctly open analyses projects.
• Perform structural analyses and generate corresponding reports.
• Confirm accuracy of modification drawings.
• Answer various structure-related inquiries from internal and external sources.
• Perform civil site analyses and generate road, grading, and stormwater designs.
• Support the generation of construction drawings showing antenna equipment placement.
• Other duties as assigned.
