Job summary

The Andersons, Inc. offers an Engineering Co-op that supports facility and infrastructure projects through AutoCAD drafting, structural assessments, project coordination, and technical documentation.

You will gain hands‑on engineering exposure while collaborating with engineering, operations, and contractor partners. Qualified students pursuing civil, mechanical, or construction engineering with a 3.0 GPA or higher, sophomore standing, and basic AutoCAD experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, or construction engineering.
  • Sophomore standing; junior or senior standing strongly preferred.
  • GPA 3.0 or higher.
  • AutoCAD experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a team member in supporting engineering projects and activities, collecting data for program managers and coordinating specific tasks.
  • Expedite in‑house design of engineering projects and specifications of functional requirements as needed.
  • Demonstrate increasing ownership and responsibility for activities and projects as progression is made toward the final stages of the co‑op.
  • Work closely with operations and engineering staff, and contractors/vendors, in planning and supporting engineering activities/projects, conducting structural assessments, data collection, drafting, gauging bids/estimates, AutoCAD assignments, etc.
  • Perform systems and information upkeep, and manage administrative duties such as drawings scanning, document handling and storage, and preparation of technical reports and summaries.

Position Overview

The Engineering Co‑op supports facility and infrastructure projects through AutoCAD drafting, structural assessments, project coordination, and technical documentation. This role provides hands‑on engineering experience while working closely with engineering, operations, and contractor partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a team member in supporting engineering projects and activities, collecting data for program managers and coordinating specific tasks.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, or construction engineering.

  • 3.0 GPA or higher required.
  • AutoCAD experience strongly preferred.
