Job summary

nVent is seeking a motivated Co-Op Engineer in Richland, MS to support mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering projects starting January 2027. You will grow through leadership exposure, hands-on development opportunities, and cross-functional collaboration with global teams.

You will participate in structured training, work with Inventor or SolidWorks, and network with peers and mentors. Eligible students must pursue a relevant bachelor’s degree and demonstrate strong communication

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, or industrial technology.
  • Sophomore class or later; graduating by summer 2029.
  • GPA of at least 2.75.
  • Experience using Inventor or SolidWorks 3D modeling software.
  • Strong written and oral communication to collaborate across functions.

  • Participate in training and development through on-the-job experience and learning opportunities.
  • Join Employee Resource Groups and participate in events, networking and volunteering.

Job description

Location: This position is in Richland, MS

Responsibilities
  • Your experience as a Co-Op Engineer goes beyond the daily activities of your role. In addition to the support of your manager, you can expect to grow and develop through exposure to leadership, engaging in development opportunities, and networking with other early career professionals.
  • Training & Development: Training and development is provided throughout your internship through on-the-job experience and other learning opportunities, fostering the development of business acumen and leadership skills at a global organization.
  • Community: You will be invited to join our Employee Resource Groups (ERG's) which offer special events, networking, professional development and volunteer opportunities throughout the year to promote inclusion and respect and to help us embrace our diversity.
  • Mentorship & Networking : Build a network of peers, managers and senior leaders to support your career path and aid your growth. Gain exposure to nVent professionals at every level who will act as formal and informal mentors during your internship.
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, or in industrial technology
  • Desire to work at least 2 or 3 semesters
  • Sophomore class or later (Graduating by summer 2029)
  • GPA of at least 2.75
  • Experience using Inventor or SolidWorks 3d modeling software
  • Skill in written and oral communication with the ability to collaborate with people across multiple functional areas
