Job summary

CPC in Minnesota is seeking an engineering-focused student for a Co-op/intern role. You’ll participate in design evaluation, testing, fixture/tool development, and CAD-assisted prototyping to support multiple departments.

The position emphasizes safety, cross-functional teamwork, and a hands-on approach, with travel as needed. Ideal candidates are pursuing a STEM degree and show strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or above in engineering or science.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to solve complex technical issues.
• Strong aptitude for details, data analysis, and process control.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity. Possesses flexibility in reacting to new situations and adaptability for working in a new environment.
• Strong results orientation and positive "can do" attitude with a sense of urgency to get things done.
• Self-starter: a "hands-on" individual who enjoys the challenge and is dedicated to getting the job done with minimal support and direction.

• Strong computer skills with experience using Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• This role may require less than 5% of travel, domestically. Candidates should be comfortable with occasional travel as needed to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate changes or improvements to the design or specification of existing products.
• Perform tests of varying complexity on new, existing, and competitive materials and products.
• Assist in the development of fixtures and tooling used by the lab, design engineering, manufacturing, and/or quality.
• Assist in the designing of products through computer-aided design, predictive engineering tools, and prototyping via additive manufacturing.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Adhere to all safety regulations.
• Demonstrate support of CPC core values.
• Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs.
