Qualifications

• Education: 60 semester units in engineering-related field.
• Experience: Two years of engineering experience at a level comparable to Senior Engineering Aide.
• License: California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performs drafting, computing, and checking field operations for roads, drainage and utilities.
• Assists in the design of Public Works projects by preparing plans, profiles and cross sections; making estimates and curve computations.
• Prepares and reviews maps, right-of-way deeds and legal descriptions; locates, sets or resets survey points.
• Writes engineering specifications and drafts reports; assists in applying engineering design principles to projects.
• May act as resident engineer for contracted projects such as roads, drainage, or buildings.
• May supervise field crews and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
