Job summary

East Coast Metal Systems, Inc., a division of Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal, is seeking an Engineering Assistant with AutoCAD background to review shop drawings and assist in drawing development based on measurements.

You will communicate with Engineers, Drafters, and Project Managers, support bid processes, and help track panel orders to meet construction schedules. Strong organization and CAD skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-year AutoCAD degree or equivalent AutoCAD experience.
• Ability to read design drawings.
• Eagerness to grow and learn about construction and manufacturing.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

• Review shop drawings and submittal packages for accuracy.
• Assist Project Manager with drawing development based on measurements.
• Communicate with Engineers, Drafters, Project Managers, and other Project Engineers.
• Support Project Manager in execution of contractor bid process.
• Manage project costs for materials and labor.
• Assist in weekly tasks and job meetings during capital projects.
• Assist in the timely preparation and execution of product to construction site.
• Track panel orders and scheduling deliveries with the construction schedule.
• Support Project Manager with project closeout (punch lists, final invoicing).
• Review proposed change orders and their validity with the Project Manager.
• Assist in reviewing architecture plans for completeness and standards.
• Attend meetings, conferences, and seminars as directed.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Review shop drawings and submittal packages for accuracy
