Job summary

Mohegan Sun in Connecticut seeks a Maintenance Technician to assist in operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of steam boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems across the central plant and entire facility.

You will support preventive maintenance, read blueprints, and work with safety procedures. This role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to pass tests, and flexibility to work various shifts in a casino environment.

Training toward trade licensure will be offered online.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a licensed trade or two years schooling in the relevant field may substitute for equivalent work experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass verbal and technical proficiency tests and demonstrate skills necessary to perform job functions.
• Must be able to read and work from blueprints.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems; ensures timely repair and maintenance of related systems.
• Assists with preventive maintenance records.
• Performs other service work as directed and maintains safety standards.

Position Summary:

This position assists in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of steam boilers, chillers, and ancillary equipment, piping and HVAC systems on the central plant and the entire facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

includes but not limited to:

• Ensures the timely repair and maintenance of all related systems
• Assists with preventive maintenance records for all records

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Accomplishes other service work, as directed

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

• Two years of experience in a licensed trade or two years schooling in appropriate field may be substituted for equivalent work experience requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to pass both a verbal and technical proficiency test demonstrate skills necessary to perform specific job functions
• Must be able to read and work from blueprints
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable through the company provider

Competencies:

Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:

• Good written and communication skills
• Has a firm knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety requirements of the trade
• Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and practices used in the trade
• Familiar with the running building management systems for HVAC and Stationary (CUP)

Training Requirements:

• OSHA Lockout/ Tag out procedures
• Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure training
• Respirator training and fit tested
• Man lifts training(scissor and boom lift)
• Forklift training
• Confined space training
• Fall protection

Mohegan Sun will be offering online training to work towards the completion of your trade license

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Must be able to work in a casino environment with possible exposure to secondhand smoke
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
