Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. in Poway, CA, seeks an Engineering Aide to support the Electrical Engineering team. You will assist with FCCB for minor changes, coordinate CAD updates, and provide documentation support across engineering tasks in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Under minimal supervision, you will gather data, prepare briefings, and help ensure accuracy in change communications while contributing to safe, compliant operations and ongoing process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in engineering or related technical field with one year of related experience or equivalent professional experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Ability to read, interpret, manipulate, and support the design of schematics, drawings and other engineering documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tests, record data, and support engineering evaluations.
  • Observe all applicable laws, regulations, and company obligations, and maintain a productive and safe working environment.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Aide within our Electrical Engineering team in San Diego, CA (Poway). Under minimal supervision, this position primarily supports the Floor Change Control Board (FCCB) for minor engineering changes and additionally provides technical and documentation support to Electrical Engineering on a variety of tasks.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities - FCCB Support


  • Serve as the primary Electrical Engineering liaison to the FCCB for minor Change Requests (CRs) and Change Notices (CNs).

  • Ensure technical accuracy and clear communication of minor changes, including cost, schedule, and integration impacts.

  • Coordinate CAD updates, drawing reviews, and approvals with design, Check/Checking, and Responsible Design Engineers.

Job Qualifications
