The Transportation Engineer plays a key role in shaping the city’s mobility network by managing the planning, design, and construction of roadway, pedestrian, bike, and traffic improvement projects. This position leads capital improvement initiatives, oversees the ADA transition plan, reviews private development proposals, and provides technical guidance across city departments. The role also conducts traffic engineering analyses to enhance safety and optimize traffic flow while serving as a responsive resource for residents with infrastructure or transportation concerns. The starting salary is between the minimum and midpoint of the range ($66,955.20 annually - $82,014.40 annually).
Candidates will start at the minimum of the range unless their skills, experience, education or other factors exceed the qualifications for the position.
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. A typical way to qualify is a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Civil Engineering or a related field and two (2) or more years of progressively responsible experience in a related engineering role that would demonstrate effectiveness in leading engineering projects and providing technical expertise.
