Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a highly qualified Technical Support Specialist - Joint Interoperability Lead. This role operates on-site at the Navy Warfare Development Center, Norfolk Naval Station, supporting the Maritime Operation Center – Exercise Support Team (MOC-EST) and Naval Surface Warfare Center – Corona (NSWC-Corona).
The candidate will contribute to Navy Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training across assigned Areas of Responsibility (AORs), playing a key role in planning, designing, and executing Operational-level Fleet Synthetic Training (FST-O) events for Fleet and task force staffs, including reserve personnel. This position involves regular engagement with Military, Government, and Contractor Leadership.
Research, analyze, and provide feedback to NCTE Software Engineering, Navy Training Baseline design engineers, and JS J7 Database personnel to validate BLUFOR, Coalition, and OPFOR capabilities.
Maintain proficiency in operating the Joint Training Data Services (JTDS) tool to ensure maritime capabilities are accurately depicted in Joint and CCMD exercise events.
Contribute annually to the JS J7-maintained Joint Live Virtual Constructive (JLVC) federation Master Class List (MCL).
Develop and maintain JTDS Order of Battle (OBS) files for JLVC-supported exercises.
Collaborate directly with JS J7 database personnel to build and manage maritime OOB (blue, red, green) within JTDS databases for each event.
Ensure naming conventions are consistent between JTDS OBS and NTB database, rationalizing data for seamless synchronization.
Coordinate and track the progress of FST-O submitted database requirements with NCTE Software Engineering and Engineering Support teams.
Act as a liaison with in-service engineering activities to address database issues swiftly during training event execution.

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 50 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Routine travel to remote site facilities may be involved. Non-standard hours may be required approximately 6 times per year for 2-3 weeks at a time to support event execution and testing.
