Job summary

The Bourbon Orleans Hotel in New Orleans is seeking an Engineer Supervisor to lead and inspire a maintenance team, ensuring all property systems run smoothly and guest experiences stay exceptional.

You will oversee preventative maintenance, manage energy use and budgets, and respond quickly to guest requests and emergencies while upholding safety, service, and quality standards. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring weekend coverage and a strong commitment to hospitality excellence.

Qualifications

  • Experience in training, supervising, and motivating staff.
  • Ability to evaluate and spot check work of staff and contractors.
  • May be required to work weekends, holidays, and be available for emergencies.
  • Comply with certification requirements (Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, First Aid).

  • Manage energy usage and spending with a keen eye—sticking to budgets, promoting conservation, and making smart purchasing choices for a greener, leaner operation.
  • Respond to guestroom requests at lightning speed and serve as the emergency contact for those unpredictable moments—ensuring guests and staff always have a hero to count on!

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance and high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • May be required to work weekends, holidays, and be available for emergencies.
  • Comply with certification requirements (Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, First Aid).
  • Experience in training, supervising, and motivating staff.
