Job summary

JLG, an Oshkosh company, is seeking a Senior Engineer - Autonomy to design, develop and integrate software for active safety and autonomous systems, including ROS2-based autonomy software and embedded controls.

You will perform engineering calculations, support field tests, write design documentation, and collaborate with suppliers and engineering specialists to meet project requirements. Occasional travel to off-site locations may be required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to produce high quality and maintainable C++ code.
  • Proficiency in ROS2-based software development.
  • Familiarity with Ubuntu 22.04+ OS.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems.
  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with three (3) or more years of related experience.

The Sr. Engineer - Autonomy will provide design, development and integration support of software architecture, motion planning, computer vision and sensor processing algorithms, graphical user interfaces, and inter-process messaging for active safety, advanced driver assistance systems and unmanned ground vehicle control/embedded systems development.

YOUR IMPACT
  • Under supervision, perform engineering calculations, investigations, software development, hardware selection, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
  • Develop and integrate ROS2-based autonomy software
  • Support field tests
  • Develop software unit and regression tests
  • Support more senior Engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.
  • Responsible for a part of a project of limited complexity.
  • Support supervisor, suppliers, engineering specialists, and other departments to execute job assignments consisting of meeting specifications and performing calculations, analysis, and design.
  • Write requirements and design documentation.
  • Direct support of programs to include travel to off-site locations as necessary to accomplish assigned engineering programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to produce high quality and maintainable C++ code
  • Proficiency in ROS2-based software development
  • Familiarity with Ubuntu 22.04+ OS
  • Familiarity with distributed systems
  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with three (3) or more years of related experience.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Python and SQL database

Pay Range

$79,300.00 - $126,900.00
