Qualifications

  • 15+ years of prior or relevant work experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • LNG experience preferred.
  • Experience with large hydrocarbon processing facility execution required.

  • Develop, oversee, and ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Review work packs as they prepared by the engineering contractor for field execution.

Strong knowledge of Mechanical codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, and PIP)
Proficiency in material identification and selection
Strong knowledge in NDE and testing requirements of piping and mechanical systems
Familiarity with construction and installation practices

Job description

Position Summary

Commonwealth LNG is seeking a leader to join us as a Senior Engineer, Mechanical. The Sr Mechanical Engineer is responsible for analyzing and overseeing the installation, completion, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and preservation of mechanical equipment at site and Fabrication Yard. This position will be located in Houston, TX initially, and then will transition to our fabrication yard in Asia at a later date. Travel to vendor shops, Paris/India execution centers as required.

Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for the Mechanical Equipment scope at the module Yard or job site.
  • Responsible for the piping connection to the mechanical equipment, oversight of check sheet preparations and sign off.
  • Develop, oversee, and ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Track and report progress during project execution.
  • Coordinate with construction or commissioning managers, engineers, to clarify scope and objectives.
  • Provide guidance on complex mechanical systems using best engineering practices and guidance of vendor Technical authority at the field.
  • Review work packs as they prepared by the engineering contractor for field execution.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, codes (ASME, API), and best practices.
  • Ensure the check and release of various Mechanical deliverables/documents.
  • Know‑How of installation for Compressors, Gas Turbines, Pumps, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, Air coolers, and all other mechanical equipment is required.
Qualifications
Education, Certificates, and Licenses
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
Experience
  • 15 plus years of prior or relevant work experience as a Mechanical Engineer required.
  • LNG experience preferred.
  • Modularization.
  • Large Hydrocarbon processing facility execution is required.
