Job summary

Judge Group, Inc. is seeking an RF Design Engineer to design LTE/5G RF networks for macro and small cell deployments in Irving, TX. The role works in a hybrid model with in-office presence required on select days.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years in RF Engineering, LTE/5G design experience, and proficiency with Atoll and geospatial tools, delivering RF design recommendations and regulatory documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Minimum 4 years of RF Engineering, RF Design, or RF Optimization experience.
• Hands-on experience with LTE and 5G NR network design.
• Experience using RF propagation and planning tools such as Atoll.
• Experience with Samsung LTE and 5G NR platforms.
• Knowledge of RF fundamentals, propagation models, antenna theory, and wireless communication principles.
• Proficiency with mapping and geospatial tools including MapInfo, Google Earth, ArcGIS.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan LTE and 5G NR radio frequency networks for Macro and Small Cell deployments.
• Perform RF analysis to improve network coverage, capacity, and performance.
• Evaluate network performance metrics and identify solutions for capacity and coverage challenges.
• Prepare and complete RF engineering deliverables, including RFDS, CIQ, FCC/FAA submissions, EME reviews and studies.
• Create RF design recommendations based on propagation modeling and traffic analysis.
• Maintain accurate engineering data within RF planning and optimization tools.
• Support network growth initiatives and modernization projects.

RF Design Engineer (LTE/5G)

Location: Irving, TX

Work Model: Hybrid (Minimum 2 days per week in office, Tuesday-Wednesday)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated RF Design Engineer to support the planning, design, optimization, and modernization of our LTE and 5G wireless networks. As part of the RF Engineering team, you will play a critical role in enhancing network coverage, capacity, and overall customer experience. You will leverage RF planning tools, performance data, and engineering expertise to develop solutions that support increasing network demand across mobility and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan LTE and 5G NR radio frequency networks for Macro and Small Cell deployments.

• Perform RF analysis to improve network coverage, capacity, and performance.

• Evaluate network performance metrics and identify solutions for capacity and coverage challenges.

• Prepare and complete RF engineering deliverables, including:

• RFDS (Radio Frequency Data Sheets)

• CIQ (Cell Integration Questionnaires)

• FCC/FAA submissions

• EME reviews and studies

• Regulatory and 911 compliance documentation

• Create RF design recommendations based on propagation modeling and traffic analysis.

• Maintain accurate engineering data within RF planning and optimization tools.

• Support network growth initiatives and modernization projects.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including System Performance, Real Estate, Construction, and Operations teams.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of LTE, VoLTE, 5G NR, and VoNR technologies.
• Experience analyzing network KPIs and recommending antenna/radio solutions.
• Experience with SQL, Python, Java, App Script, Perl, or similar scripting languages.
• Experience with Tableau, Google Cloud Platform, and geospatial analytics.
• Ability to collect, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time-management skills.
