Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking an Engineer Project Coordinator in the Water Department's In‑House Design Section to lead and manage a variety of city engineering projects. You’ll design, inspect, and coordinate contracts for vital water and sanitary sewer improvements, and play a key role in procurement through bids, estimates, and change orders.

Grow professionally under a Senior Professional Engineer in a fast paced, collaborative team that serves over 1,000,000 residents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university.
• Four years of civil engineering, water/wastewater design, construction, or project coordination experience.
• Valid driver's license in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate city infrastructure projects that improve daily life for Fort Worth residents.
• Apply civil engineering expertise to design, inspect, and manage contracts for water and sanitary sewer improvements.
• Participate in construction procurement by preparing, reviewing, and evaluating bids, cost estimates, and change orders.
• Grow your career while working under the guidance of a Senior Professional Engineer.
• Respond to a high volume of inquiries from the public, internal teams, and partner organizations.
• Use established design criteria to ensure quality and compliance.
