Job summary

Amrize's Theodore Cement Plant in Alabama is seeking an Engineer Process II to drive operational improvements and optimize production through process controls and automation.

You will analyze plant operations, develop automation solutions, prepare reports, and support ISO compliance, safety, and environmental performance. Travel up to 15% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years of equivalent experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Field of Study: Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3-7 years of work experience.
• SAP, TIS and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Travel up to 15%.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; adherence to safety and PPE policies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze plant operations and recommend process improvements.
• Develop process control automation and computer applications.
• Prepare reports on operating efficiencies and failure investigations.
• Test plant systems to determine equipment efficiencies.
• Support management to meet environmental and quality standards.
• Train shift supervisors on SAP reporting and TIS.
• Implement new systems (eg, TIS) and coordinate updates.
• Perform ISO audits and month-end activity reporting.
• Collaborate with suppliers, plant staff and process teams.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental policies.

About The Role

The Process Engineer is responsible for the operational improvements of all aspects of the Plant production and for the computer applications to process controls.

What You'll Accomplish

• Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
• Analyze operations of the Plant and make recommendations for process improvement including Cost/Benefit Analysis.
• Develop process control automation and computer applications for process control.
• Prepare computer reports on the process of operating efficiencies and failure investigation tests.
• Perform tests on operating plant systems to determine the efficiencies of the equipment.
• Provide assistance to management in maintaining the Plant within environmental and quality performance regulations.
• Training shift supervisors for SAP reporting and TIS.
• Responsible for New System Implementation (eg. TIS).
• Perform ISO Audits and involved with Month End activity reporting.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Works closely with the equipment suppliers, plant staff and Process Area Teams to ensure the successful operation of the plant.

What We’re Looking For

Education: Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years of equivalent experience

Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree

Field of Study Preferred: Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Required Work Experience: 3-7 years

Required Technical Skills: SAP, TIS, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)

Travel Requirements: 15%

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
