Job summary

Amrize is seeking an Engineer Process II to drive operational improvements at the Theodore Cement Plant in Alabama. The role focuses on process control automation, reporting, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will analyze plant operations, develop automation solutions, and prepare reports on efficiency and failures while supporting new system implementations and SAP/TIS training for supervisors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or 3-5 years of equivalent experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 3-7 years of work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze plant operations and make recommendations for process improvement including Cost/Benefit Analysis.
• Develop process control automation and computer applications for process control.
• Prepare computer reports on the process of operating efficiencies and failure investigation tests.
• Perform ISO Audits and involved with Month End activity reporting.
• Train shift supervisors for SAP reporting and TIS.
• Responsible for New System Implementation (eg. TIS).
• Support environmental and quality performance regulations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Process Engineer is responsible for the operational improvements of all aspects of the Plant production and for the computer applications to process controls.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
• Analyze operations of the Plant and make recommendations for process improvement including Cost/Benefit Analysis.
• Develop process control automation and computer applications for process control.
• Prepare computer reports on the process of operating efficiencies and failure investigation tests.
• Perform tests on operating plant systems to determine the efficiencies of the equipment.
• Provide assistance to management in maintaining the Plant within environmental and quality performance regulations.
• Training shift supervisors for SAP reporting and TIS.
• Responsible for New System Implementation (eg. TIS).
• Perform ISO Audits and involved with Month End activity reporting.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

• Works closely with the equipment suppliers, plant staff and Process Area Teams to ensure the successful operation of the plant.
• Other responsibilities as assigned

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years of equivalent experience

Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree

Field of Study Preferred: Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Required Work Experience: 3-7 years

Required Training/Certifications:

Additional Requirements: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
