Job summary

Republic Airways is seeking an Engineering professional to manage powerplant lifecycle, cost, and reliability. This role oversees powerplant removals, shop visits, and data development for AD/SB compliance.

You will support line and heavy maintenance and collaborate across departments to optimize the Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program. Requirements include an AA in a technical field with powerplant emphasis, 3+ years in line/heavy maintenance, and an FAA A&P license.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Aviation/ Aerospace Engineering or Maintenance or related field with emphasis on powerplant theory.
• At least 3 years Line or Heavy Aircraft Maintenance experience with knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 121, 145, and 25.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.
• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance or Technology (preferred).
• Training in Six Sigma or Lean processes (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintains controls over the life cycle and cost structure of powerplants under area of responsibility.
• Reviews powerplant removals to ensure justification.
• Monitors fleet powerplant health and proposes solutions to maintain health levels.
• Creates and approves powerplant shop visits and work scopes for repair/overhaul.
• Provides engineering support for line and heavy maintenance including minor repair authorizations.
• Interacts with departments to define and optimize Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program.
• Allocates engineering data to address ADs, SBs, and service information.
• Responds to requests for engineering data not in manuals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Develops Engineering data to accomplish modifications in response to ADs, SBs, Service Information Letters, etc.Responds to requests for engineering assistance to obtain or develop approved engineering data when such data is not in the Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Structure Repair Manual, or other FAA approved documents.Interacts with applicable departments to define, maintain, and optimize the Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program.Analyzes and determines disposition all reliability issues and improvements.Minimizes costs and aircraft out-of-service time relative to area of responsibility.Performs other duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEAssociate's degree (A.A.) in Aviation/ Aerospace Engineering or Maintenance or a related technical field with emphasis on powerplant theory or the equivalent combination of education and experience.At least 3 years Line or Heavy Aircraft Maintenance experience with demonstrated working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 121, 145, and 25 in an Engineering or Technical Service department.Requires experience with life cycle management, technical work scope evaluation and cost management of powerplants.FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's degrees (B.A./B.S.) in Aviation Maintenance or Technology with an emphasis on Powerplant. Training in Six Sigma or Lean processes.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
