Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineer Mission Assurance Level 2/3 at our on-site Rocket Center, WV facility. Responsibilities include generating quality reports and facilitating root cause corrective actions to meet contractual standards.

Responsibilities also cover data analysis, developing inspection plans, supplier coordination, and failure analysis support. A STEM degree with Lean Six Sigma is preferred, with mandatory US citizenship and ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with related manufacturing/quality experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing/quality control or assurance.
  • Lean Six Sigma training or equivalent preferred.

  • Analyze data and drive process improvements.
  • Develop inspection plans based on contractual requirements.
  • Review data and statistical analyses to meet standards; facilitate root cause corrective actions.
  • Coordinate supplier audits and maintain quality records/traceability (Solumina).
  • Provide support for failure analysis and risk assessments.

Engineer Mission Assurance Level 2/3 and Site

This position is on-site at our Rocket Center, WV location. There are no remote work opportunities for this position.

Specific Responsibilities Include The Following
  • Generate quality reports such as First Pass Yield, First Article Inspection, Cost of Quality, etc.
  • Analyze data and drive process improvements
  • Develop inspection plans based upon contractual requirements
  • Review data and statistical analysis to meet required standards and specifications Facilitate Root Cause Corrective Actions
  • Build good working relationship with suppliers, conducting periodic supplier audits to make sure that they are working according to plan
  • Validate and coordinate product readiness for use or delivery, including qualifications of new suppliers
  • Provide and support failure analysis processes for program hardware
  • Perform independent risk assessments on Mission Assurance issues and communicate issues and findings
Basic Qualifications
  • Level 2: A bachelors degree with 2 years of relevant manufacturing/quality experience or a masters degree with 0 years of experience
  • Level 3: A bachelors degree with 5 years of relevant manufacturing/quality experience or a masters degree with 3 years of experience
  • Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • STEM Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Lean Six Sigma training
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Able to use custom manufacturing software (i.e. Solumina) to maintain quality records, traceability, etc
  • Able to work on multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Use tools such as risk assessment, 8D, Root Cause Analysis

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
