The LINE DC is seeking a dynamic Engineer to join our hospitality team in Ward 1, DC. If hired, you may receive a Ward 1 Resident Bonus of $300, reflecting our commitment to local communities.

The role requires autonomy to handle multiple maintenance tasks across electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, and IT, while delivering a seamlessly brilliant guest experience. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, team player, and detail-oriented professional with a background in hotel

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years in hospitality/service preferred.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain communications with coworkers and other departments.
• Complete maintenance requests with minimal disruption to guests and staff.
• Maintain log books and records up to date prior to finishing your shift.
• Perform maintenance tasks across electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, and IT equipment.
• Ensure safety equipment inspection and routine preventative maintenance.
• Follow safety procedures and keep workspace clean.

The Role…

We are seeking a dynamic Engineer to join our team who also resides in the Washington DC Ward 1 Area. If hired, be prepared to receive a Ward 1 Resident Bonus of $300*. A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit. This is a fast-moving business, so we are looking for the right individual to be autonomous and be able to pick up multiple tasks and projects at once.

Our culture is pacey but supportive, so you must be able to work in synergy with your peers and the different departments around you. Being an active communicator who is a team player and detail-oriented is a must to ensure a uniquely brilliant service experience for our guests.

Main Duties…

• Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow coworkers and other departments within the hotel
• Ensure maintenance requests assigned to you are completed competently, with minimum disruption to hotel guests and coworkers within the assigned timeframe
• Ensure all log books and record sheets are correctly completed and kept up to date prior to finishing your shift
• Assist with maintenance operations including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, electrical, ice machines, lighting, kitchen equipment, IT/switch rooms, etc.
• Inspect and maintain electrical equipment such as compressors, circulation pumps, filters, outlets, thermostats and ice machines
• Assist with preventative maintenance and equipment maintenance in accordance with established timeframes
• Ensures that all standby units are readily available for operation
• Remain updated on all projects or activity status within the department
• Repair wall coverings and paint throughout the hotel
• Inspect, repair and replace safety equipment, fire hoses cabinets, water valves, fire extinguishers, fire escapes, etc.
• Maintain an appropriate variety and quantity of engineering tools and supplies
• Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions
• Ensures cleanliness and sanitation at the workplace
• Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements

Core Competencies

• Three (3) years related experience in hospitality or service industry preferred
