Job summary

The LINE DC, located in Washington DC Ward 1, is seeking a dynamic Engineer to join our team. You will reside in Ward 1 and may receive a $300 ward bonus. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality and can manage multiple tasks autonomously while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
Minimum 3 years related experience in hospitality or service industry preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills mandatory.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain good communications with fellow coworkers and departments.
Ensure maintenance requests are completed competently with minimal disruption to guests.
Keep log books and records updated before end of shift.
Assist with maintenance operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and IT equipment.
Inspect electrical equipment and mechanical systems for safety and reliability.
Support preventative maintenance per schedule and maintain tools and supplies.
Ensure standby units are ready for operation and report status of projects.

The Role…

We are seeking a dynamic Engineer to join our team who also resides in the Washington DC Ward 1 Area. If hired, be prepared to receive a Ward 1 Resident Bonus of $300*.

A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit. This is a fast-moving business, so we are looking for the right individual to be autonomous and be able to pick up multiple tasks and projects at once.

Our culture is pacey but supportive, so you must be able to work in synergy with your peers and the different departments around you. Being an active communicator who is a team player and detail-oriented is a must to ensure a uniquely brilliant service experience for our guests.

Main Duties…

Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow coworkers and other departments within the hotel
Ensure maintenance requests assigned to you are completed competently, with minimum disruption to hotel guests and coworkers within the assigned timeframe
Ensure all log books and record sheets are correctly completed and kept up to date prior to finishing your shift
Assist with maintenance operations including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, electrical, ice machines, lighting, kitchen equipment, IT/switch rooms, etc.
Inspect and maintain electrical equipment such as compressors, circulation pumps, filters, outlets, thermostats and ice machines
Assist with preventative maintenance and equipment maintenance in accordance with established timeframes
Ensures that all standby units are readily available for operation
Remain updated on all projects or activity status within the department
Repair wall coverings and paint throughout the hotel
Inspect, repair and replace safety equipment, fire hoses cabinets, water valves, fire extinguishers, fire escapes, etc.
Maintain an appropriate variety and quantity of engineering tools and supplies
Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions
Ensures cleanliness and sanitation at the workplace
Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements

Core Competencies

High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
Three (3) years related experience in hospitality or service industry preferred
