The LINE DC is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Front Office Manager who lives in Washington DC Ward 1 to join our dynamic hotel team. A Ward 1 Resident Bonus of $300* is available.

You will lead front desk operations, greet guests, and collaborate across departments to deliver exceptional service in a fast‑paced, culturally connected property. Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in hospitality, strong communication, team leadership, and a detail‑oriented, proactive mindset.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Three years of related hospitality or service experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Opera PMS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and maintain professional demeanor at all times.
  • Supervise daily front office operations to ensure service excellence.
  • Coordinate group arrivals/departures and guest requests.
  • Schedule front office staff according to forecasted business levels.
  • Recruit, interview, onboard and train front office team.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.

The Role…

We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Front Office Manager to join our team who also resides in the Washington DC Ward 1 Area. If hired, be prepared to receive a Ward 1 Resident Bonus of $300*. A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit. This is a fast-moving business, so we are looking for the right individual to be autonomous and be able to pick up multiple tasks and projects at once.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  1. Greet every guest with a smile and maintain eye contact
  2. Must be courteous and gracious, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
  3. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes adhering to the proper dress code when working
  4. Establish and maintain good communications and team work with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel
  5. Supervises daily front office functions to ensure courteous and professional guest service levels
  6. Resolve guest complaints in a satisfactory manner
  7. Coordinate daily group arrival/departure preparation, special requests, room assignments and guest amenity programs
  8. Assist in scheduling front office staff appropriate to forecasted business levels, when needed
  9. Follow up with front office staff on daily shift and individual duties
  10. Provide verbal instruction and guidance compliant with the company’s policies and standards
  11. Support and comply with hotel policy and company policy in matters concerning accounting, purchasing, credit and cash handling
  12. Responsible for maintaining front office/lobby appearance while on duty
  13. Maintain proper collateral and supply inventory to support all appropriate front office activities
  14. Coordinate relocation of guests when necessary
  15. Maintain proper operation of all aspects of our Property Management System
  16. Understand all fire/safety procedures and provide necessary assistance to guests and employees in the event of an emergency
  17. Participate in scheduled departmental and administrative meetings as requested
  18. Play an active role in recruitment, interviews, onboarding and training
  19. Play an active role in your department’s development and engagement
  20. Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions
  21. Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements

Knowledge, Requirements and Skills
  1. High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  2. Three (3) years related experience in hospitality or service industry preferred
  3. Strong communication skills

  6. Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Office, Opera PMS

Working Conditions/Environment
  1. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  2. The person having this responsibility may have to lift up to 50lbs on an occasional basis
  3. The person having this position may have to sit for eight (8) hours, stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for three (3) hours per day.
