Averro in the United States seeks a Nuclear Instrumentation Engineer II for a radiation-detection portfolio. The role focuses on mechanical design, electrical testing, and rigorous documentation to support Class 1E and seismic qualification.

You will prepare specifications, author test reports, and collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and quality on sourcing and process improvements while assisting senior engineers on new product development and material selection.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering experience in mechanical design (GD&T), electrical testing, and technical writing.
• Knowledge of extreme-environment engineering and qualification testing; Microsoft Office.
• B.S. in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Electrical, Ceramic, or Nuclear preferred)

Responsabilités

• Prepare and verify specifications for materials, parts, machining, welding, and brazing.
• Author technical and test reports for Class 1E and seismic qualification (IEEE 323/344).
• Support LOCA, seismic, environmental, and radiation-life qualification testing.
• Partner with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality on sourcing and process improvements.

Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Nuclear Instrumentation Engineer II for a radiation-detection manufacturer which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in mechanical or electrical design looking to further their career in nuclear power and defense instrumentation.

• Prepare and verify specifications for materials, parts, machining, welding, and brazing
• Author technical and test reports for Class 1E and seismic qualification (IEEE 323/344)
• Support LOCA, seismic, environmental, and radiation-life qualification testing
• Partner with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality on sourcing and process improvements
• Assist senior engineers with new product development and materials selection

Essential Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering experience in mechanical design (GD&T), electrical testing, and technical writing
• Knowledge of extreme-environment engineering and qualification testing; Microsoft Office
• B.S. in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Electrical, Ceramic, or Nuclear preferred)

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with IEEE 323/344, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, Part 21, or ASME NQA-1
• Experience with mineral-insulated cables, ceramic-to-metal seals, or brazed assemblies
• Commercial nuclear, naval reactor, aerospace, or defense industry background
