Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation's Reading, PA facility seeks an experienced EHS leader who independently identifies and controls occupational hazards, applying engineering and safety principles to safeguard work sites and products.

You will advise on structural safety, develop and implement safety policies, manage complex EHS projects and teams, oversee audits and investigations, and deliver training while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

  • Requires a four-year degree in safety science or engineering.
  • CSP, CIH or other professional certificates preferred.
  • Graduate-level degree in a related field highly desired.
  • Ten or more years of experience in a safety-related discipline, preferably in heavy manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Recognized expert in the field.
  • Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary EHS projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead identification, analysis, and control of occupational hazards.
  • Advise on structural safety requirements using failure mode analysis.
  • Design and implement protective equipment and safety devices.
  • Review and develop occupational safety policies, guidelines, and standards.
  • Lead Health & Safety initiatives for corporate acquisitions.
  • Manage highly complex, multi-disciplinary EHS projects (team selection, budgeting, deliverables).
  • Maintain compliance with current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
  • Lead internal audits and installation of safety devices.
  • Investigate industrial accidents and implement preventative measures.
  • Review plans/specifications for new machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Report and review findings from investigations and inspections.
  • Develop and deliver training curriculum; evaluate effectiveness.
  • Maintain contractor and construction management programs and policies.

The Reading plant is a hub for innovation, leveraging state-of-the-art wrought and powder metallurgy technologies to deliver next-generation materials, including high-performance titanium alloys, nickel and cobalt-based superalloys, and stainless steels. Job Summary

Independently leads the identification and control of occupational hazards, ensuring worksite and product safety through expert application of engineering and safety principles. Advises on structural safety, develops and implements safety policies, and manages complex EHS projects and teams. Oversees audits, accident investigations, and compliance with regulations.
