Job summary

Zing Recruiting is seeking an experienced Engineer IV - Construction Manager to join our client's team in Fairfax, Virginia. This role provides the opportunity to serve as an owner’s representative on complex capital building projects while managing all phases of construction administration from procurement through project closeout.

The ideal candidate will have extensive vertical construction experience, strong contract management skills, and a PE or RA license.

Qualifications

• Active PE or RA license required.
• Extensive experience overseeing vertical construction projects.
• Strong background in construction administration and contract management.
• Experience with public sector, municipal, educational, healthcare, or large commercial projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of construction administration from procurement through project closeout.
• Serve as owner’s representative and oversee contractor performance on complex capital building projects.
• Manage construction contracts, including change orders, RFIs, pay applications, and contract compliance.
• Conduct pre-bid and pre-construction meetings and review contractor qualifications.
• Monitor project schedules, including CPM scheduling requirements, to keep projects on track.
• Perform constructability reviews and quality control inspections.
• Resolve construction issues and disputes while maintaining stakeholder relationships.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, inspectors, and end users.

Zing Recruiting is seeking an experienced Engineer IV - Construction Manager to join our client's team. This role offers the opportunity to serve as an owner's representative on complex capital building projects while managing all phases of construction administration from procurement through project closeout. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience overseeing vertical construction projects, coordinating with contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Engineer IV - Construction Manager Job Summary:

Pay: Up to $60/hour

Schedule: Full-Time

• Manage all phases of construction administration from procurement and bid preparation through construction completion, warranty period, and project closeout
• Serve as the owner's representative and oversee contractor performance on complex capital building projects
• Manage construction contracts, including change orders, RFIs, pay applications, and contract compliance
• Conduct pre-bid and pre-construction meetings and review contractor qualifications
• Monitor project schedules, including CPM scheduling requirements, and ensure projects remain on track
• Perform constructability reviews and quality control inspections
• Resolve construction issues and disputes while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, inspectors, and end users
• Ensure successful project delivery from project start through final closeout

Engineer IV - Construction Manager Qualifications:

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or Registered Architect (RA) license required
• Extensive experience managing vertical construction projects, including new construction and major renovation projects
• Strong background in construction administration, contract management, and contractor oversight
• Experience with public sector, municipal, educational, healthcare, institutional, higher education, government, or large commercial construction projects preferred
• Knowledge of construction procurement, contract administration, CPM scheduling, quality control, and project closeout required
• Strong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex construction environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• LEED certification
