Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) seeks an experienced IT Engineer to manage our Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environment, supporting business users across multiple sites and regions.

The role focuses on administration, security, and optimization of analytics platforms within a dynamic, global IT team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years in IT engineering with Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in IT engineering, with a focus on Power BI administration.
• Experience with Power BI Service, Microsoft Fabric administration, Power BI Gateways, and semantic models (datasets).
• Strong understanding of Power BI and Fabric security and permissions, including workspace roles, row-level security, and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Power BI REST APIs, Bash) for automation, auditing, and monitoring.
• Experience working in large global organizations with users and data sources across multiple regions.
• Familiarity with data governance, capacity management, and disaster recovery strategies for analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage on-premises data gateways and virtual network data gateways.
• Manage semantic models, including refresh schedules and deployment pipelines.
• Design and maintain a permissions model covering workspace roles and security groups.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of the Power BI and Fabric environment.
• Coordinate with IT teams on capacity planning, governance, and upgrades.
• Document configurations and best practices.
• Provide technical support to report authors and data owners.

We are seeking an experienced IT Engineer to join our team and manage our Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environment. This is a great opportunity to work on a complex and dynamic analytics platform that supports business users across multiple sites and regions.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot the Power BI and Microsoft Fabric tenant, including capacities, workspaces, tenant settings, and usage across multiple sites and regions
• Install, configure, and manage on-premises data gateways and virtual network data gateways, including clustering, updates, and data source connectivity for reliable refresh
• Manage semantic models, including refresh schedules, performance tuning, deployment pipelines, and troubleshooting of refresh failures
• Design and maintain a permissions model covering workspace roles, app access, row-level and object-level security, sensitivity labels, and Entra ID security groups
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of the Power BI and Fabric environment
• Coordinate with other IT teams to implement capacity planning, governance policies, gateway maintenance, and platform upgrades
• Document system configurations, procedures/run books, and best practices
• Provide technical support and guidance to report authors, data owners, end users, and other IT staff

Knowledge And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is preferred
• 2+ years of experience in IT engineering, with a focus on Power BI administration
• Experience with Power BI Service, Microsoft Fabric administration, Power BI Gateways, and semantic models (datasets)
• Strong understanding of Power BI and Fabric security and permissions, including workspace roles, row-level security, and Microsoft Entra ID
• Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Power BI REST APIs, Bash) for automation, auditing, and monitoring
• Experience working in large global organizations with users and data sources across multiple regions
• Familiarity with data governance, capacity management, and disaster recovery strategies for analytics platforms

Desirable Knowledge And Experience

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools such as Splunk, the Power BI Activity Log, or the Fabric Capacity Metrics app
• Experience with managing cloud-based SaaS applications such as Microsoft 365
• Experience with Microsoft Purview, DAX, Power Query, or Tabular Editor
• Experience with managing on-premises Windows-based applications and data sources
