Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation, through its Pierce Manufacturing unit, is seeking an Environmental Engineer Intern to support the Environmental and Sustainability Function. You will assist with projects on compliance, permitting, reporting, and sustainability initiatives that influence operations.

The role emphasizes research, data collection, and collaboration with engineers and management to promote green practices and environmental awareness across manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

  • Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • GPA of 3.0 or greater (standout qualification).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Relevant coursework in environmental topics.

Responsibilities

  • Support environmental and sustainability projects and initiatives.
  • Assist with environmental compliance tasks and reporting.
  • Provide technical environmental support to operations and management.
  • Contribute to the Environmental Key Performance Metrics (waste, energy, recycling).

Oshkosh is committed to establishing a proactive approach in promoting Environmental and Sustainable practices and awareness into business planning and operational processes.YOUR IMPACTThese duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned:Work on special sustainability and environmental projects and initiativesAssist the environmental team with;a. Involvement with various environmental compliance tasks and projects.b. Providing technical environmental sustainability and compliance services to operations.c. Providing technical assistance to management, employees, and others on matters regarding compliance, permitting, sustainability, and reporting.d. Researching, analyzing, and/or preparing information including but not limited to:e. Permit applications I. Governmental rules, regulations, codes, and standards ii. Air emission inventories iii. Environmental reports and disclosuresAssist in compiling and preparing Environmental Key Performance Metrics such as; waste, recycling and energy.Review SDSs and update as needed in the SDS system and other environmental management systems.Upgrade Environmental and Green Team SharePoint SitesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSStudent working towards a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or other related environmental field for entire duration of internshipSTANDOUT QUALIFICATIONSGPA of 3.0 or greaterGood oral and written communication skillsExperience in extracurricular activities outside academic requirementsRelevant courseworkPay Range:$18.00 - $37.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations.
