Job summary

Qualus is seeking an Overhead Transmission Line Engineer to join its Transmission Design team. You will design and create construction drawings for overhead transmission projects and model lines using PLS-CADD, with emphasis on 69kV–500kV designs.

Office options include Del Mar, CA; Lakewood, CO; or Vancouver, WA. Qualifications include a ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering, 2–4 years in overhead transmission design, and proficiency with PLS-CADD/AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
• 2–4 years of overhead transmission design experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, PLS-CADD, AutoCAD or similar.
• Ability to work independently and in a team with high attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to discuss technical recommendations with customers.
• Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain within one year.
• Ability to travel up to 10% and must possess a valid driver's license.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited school
• 2-4 years of experience in overhead transmission design
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office product applications, PLS-CADD, AutoCAD or similar
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, having high attention to detail.
• Great communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss technical recommendations with customers.
• Great computer skills.
• Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
• Must possess valid driver's license
