Job summary

Mason, a leading aerospace and defense provider in Los Angeles, is seeking an Engineer II– Manufacturing, Components Assembly to advance manufacturing processes. You will conduct root-cause analysis, create detailed process instructions, and drive Lean improvements across complex parts and assemblies.

The role requires a Bachelor's in an engineering field and 3+ years of experience in automation and lean practices, with collaboration across design, quality, and production teams. ITAR and U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
  • 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience automating processes and implementing lean manufacturing.
  • Ability to work closely with design, quality engineering, and production teams.
  • Experience with electronic assembly and troubleshooting is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct root cause and corrective action on parts and processes that are not in control.
  • Evaluate new and existing processes to ensure the quality and safety of the job.
  • Create and maintain detailed manufacturing and process instructions for complex parts and processes.
  • Establish time standards and identify new equipment, tool designs, and processes to improve consistency, accuracy, and cycle times.
  • Design tooling, fixtures, and jigs to improve manufacturing processes and support capital equipment purchases.
  • Participate in concurrent engineering to ensure new and legacy designs are manufacturable.
  • Collaborate with development engineering to successfully transition new products to production.
  • Drive and support Lean Manufacturing techniques in the shop, including value stream mapping, cellular manufacturing, set-up time reduction, and overall waste reduction.
  • Identify and spearhead continuous improvement projects to eliminate waste, reduce cycle time and lower production costs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Engineer II– Manufacturing, Components Assembly

Our solutions fall into two broad categories: control products and components.

Summary

Performs a wide variety of mechanical, electromechanical, subsystems, and control engineering assignments at a high degree of complexity with minimal direction from the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. This position has significant latitude for independent action and decision.

Position Duties

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Electrical, or other related Engineering field.
  • 3 + years of industry experience
  • Experience working on automating processes/systems and implementing lean manufacturing.
  • Ability to work closely with design, quality engineering, and production teams.
  • Experience with electronic assembly and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
  • Light to moderate lifting is required
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required
  • Must be able to work on Saturdays as needed to meet production goals
Other:

Compensation Pay Range: $101,000 - $120,000

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
