Spectra Logic is seeking an Engineer, Design Verification Test for 100% onsite in Boulder, Colorado. The role validates tape storage solutions, creating precise functional test plans, executing tests, and reporting issues to enable robust product quality.

Responsibilities

• Designing functional test plans and test cases using a variety of technologies that are precise, accurate, repeatable, maintainable, and clean.

• Performing root cause analysis on issues found to develop regression tests.
• Working closely with Engineering development departments within Spectra to facilitate the transfer of knowledge to the Test group for new projects and products.
• Effectively communicating with other development groups to provide all necessary information needed to fix the bugs found.

Engineer, Design Verification Test - 100% Onsite, Boulder, Colorado

This is a Full Time, On Site Direct Hire Exempt Position

The Engineer, Design Verification Test is responsible for validation of tape storage solutions. Day-to-day activities may include:

• Designing functional test plans and test cases using a variety of technologies that are precise, accurate, repeatable, maintainable, and clean.
• Executing functional test cases, tracking, and issue reporting
• Performing root cause analysis on issues found to develop regression tests.
• Working closely with Engineering development departments within Spectra to facilitate the transfer of knowledge to the Test group for new projects and products.
• Effectively communicating with other development groups to provide all necessary information needed to fix the bugs found.

What you need to bring to the table:

It would be cool if you had:

• Preferred: Degree in Engineering, or a related technical/business field or 7 years of equivalent experience.
• Experience with HW and SW integrated solutions, particularly in enterprise data storage.
• Ability to use scripting languages to increase efficiency of the testing
• Lab design (Racks, Power, and Cabling)
• Lab inventory management.
• Switch (Ethernet, SAS, Fibre Channel)
• Tape drive, library knowledge and experience.
• Storage protocol (S3 Object, NAS, SCSI, SAS, Tape) knowledge and experience.
• Cloud knowledge and experience.
• Candidates must reside within commuting distance of our Boulder, CO office. Relocation assistance is not available. Only local candidates will be considered

Compensation

77- 120K/ year. While this salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, a candidate’s actual salary will be competitive based on a variety of factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience within the range.
