Job summary

Kohler Co. is seeking an Engineer II for CPD, onsite in Kohler, WI. You will drive improvements across faucet product design, process efficiency, and cost-reduction initiatives, partnering with cross-functional teams worldwide to deliver measurable results.

You will apply Creo/Windchill and CAD modeling to refine designs, while analyzing failures and implementing practical, durable solutions. Travel to customer sites may be required to troubleshoot and validate changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of science degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 2 years of mechanical engineering experience; leadership of engineering or cross-functional team is desirable.
• Working knowledge of CAD modeling; Creo/Windchill experience preferred.
• Hands-on fabrication and prototyping skills.
• Experience with SAP is a plus; ability to research and manage product data.
• International and domestic travel as needed (approx. 15%).

• Identify and assess technical feasibility of product redesigns and manage cost-reduction activities.
• Apply engineering analysis to design enhancements that improve production efficiency and cost effectiveness worldwide.
• Review product returns and determine root causes of faucet product issues; may travel to customer locations for troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with customer service and quality groups to address product failure reports and lead investigations.
• Create and validate short- and long-term solutions for product performance issues.
• Consolidate and report on issues and trends related to product failures and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and propose new ideas for product features, improvements, and innovations.

As a Current Product Development Engineer, you?ll play a critical role in advancing the performance, value, and manufacturability of our faucet product portfolio. You?ll blend engineering excellence with practical problem-solving as you uncover cost-reduction opportunities, drive efficiency across global plants, and help shape the next evolution of Kohler products. You will work with minimal guidance, demonstrating initiative and independent judgment as you proactively identify areas for improvement and execute engineering solutions that deliver measurable results.

What You?ll Do

• Create and validate short term and long term solutions to address product performance issues.
• Consolidate and report on issues and trends related to product failures and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and propose new ideas for product features, improvements, and innovations.
• Stay at the forefront of materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes to influence future product direction.
• Create and maintain detailed product specifications that reflect manufacturing requirements, regulatory standards, and marketing needs.
• Generate and evaluate multiple technical solutions using Design for Six Sigma, FEA, and other analytical methods?while recognizing when quick, practical solutions are the best path forward.
• Own all aspects of product design accuracy, including GD&T, tolerance stack?ups, and form/fit/function evaluations.
• Ensure product compliance and functionality through testing and analysis.
• Preserve and elevate Kohler?s design and styling standards across components and assemblies.
• Prepare technical drawings and documentation that clearly define or update product requirements.
• Manage priorities, action plans, and timelines for multiple projects; influence cross?functional partners even without direct authority.
• Support cost modeling efforts and track savings across projects.

++Skills/Requirements++

• Bachelor of science degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program required, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering focus is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of mechanical engineering experience. Previous successful leadership of engineering or cross-functional team is desirable.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of CAD modeling, Creo/Windchill experience preferred.
• Hands on fabrication and prototyping skills
• Experience with SAP is a positive, as well as the demonstrated ability to research and manage product data.
• International and domestic travel as needed (approx. 15%)
