Job summary

Kohler Co. is seeking an Engineer II, CPD for onsite work in Kohler,WI. You will drive performance, value, and manufacturability of faucet products, identifying cost reductions and efficiency opportunities across global plants.

Lead engineering solutions with minimal guidance and deliver measurable results. Role requires 2+ years in mechanical engineering, CAD proficiency (Creo/Windchill), and hands-on fabrication skills.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in engineering is required.
• 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience; leadership of engineering or cross-functional team desirable.
• Working knowledge of CAD modeling; Creo/Windchill preferred.
• Hands-on fabrication and prototyping skills.
• Experience with SAP is a plus; ability to research and manage product data.
• International and domestic travel as needed (approx. 15%).

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess technical feasibility of product redesigns and cost-reduction activities.
• Apply engineering analysis to design enhancements that improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness globally.
• Review product returns and determine root causes; may require travel to customer locations for troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with customer service and quality teams to address failure reports and investigations.
• Develop short- and long-term solutions for product performance issues and document results.
• Generate and evaluate multiple technical solutions using DFSS, FEA, and other methods.
• Own GD&T, tolerances, and form/fit/function evaluations for product designs.
• Ensure compliance and functionality through testing and analysis.

As a Current Product Development Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in advancing the performance, value, and manufacturability of our faucet product portfolio. You’ll blend engineering excellence with practical problem-solving as you uncover cost-reduction opportunities, drive efficiency across global plants, and help shape the next evolution of Kohler products. You will work with minimal guidance, demonstrating initiative and independent judgment as you proactively identify areas for improvement and execute engineering solutions that deliver measurable results.

What You’ll Do

• Identify and assess technicalfeasibility of product redesigns and manage the execution of cost-reductionactivities.

• Stay at the forefront ofmaterials, technologies, and manufacturing processes to influence futureproduct direction.
• Create and maintain detailedproduct specifications that reflect manufacturing requirements, regulatorystandards, and marketing needs.
• Generate and evaluate multipletechnical solutions using Design for Six Sigma, FEA, and other analyticalmethods—while recognizing when quick, practical solutions are the bestpath forward.
• Own all aspects of product designaccuracy, including GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and form/fit/functionevaluations.
• Ensure product compliance andfunctionality through testing and analysis.
• Preserve and elevate Kohler’sdesign and styling standards across components and assemblies.
• Prepare technical drawings anddocumentation that clearly define or update product requirements.
• Manage priorities, action plans,and timelines for multiple projects; influence cross-functional partnerseven without direct authority.
• Support cost modeling efforts andtrack savings across projects.

Skills/Requirements

• Bachelor of science degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program required, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering focus is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of mechanical engineering experience. Previous successful leadership of engineering or cross-functional team is desirable.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of CAD modeling, Creo/Windchill experience preferred.
• Hands on fabrication and prototyping skills
• Experience with SAP is a positive, as well as the demonstrated ability to research and manage product data.
• International and domestic travel as needed (approx. 15%)

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
