Job summary

Veregy is a decarbonization leader delivering turnkey energy solutions across commercial buildings. The engineer will design, implement, and optimize building automation systems for hvac, lighting, and access control to reduce energy use and enhance facility efficiency.

Responsibilities include design collaboration, sequencing optimization, and documentation while troubleshooting field issues and supporting project teams to meet client expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or software) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in building automation system design and implementation.
  • Experience with Distech, Reliable Controls, or Honeywell.
  • Tridium Niagara AX/N4 certification required.
  • CAD or 3D modeling software knowledge essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist design, programming, and commissioning of building automation systems.
  • Write and optimize control sequences to reduce energy use.
  • Create design/construction documents for building automation projects.
  • Troubleshoot low voltage field circuitry and verify requirements.
  • Respond to customer issues and comfort complaints promptly.

Summary of Position Functions
The role will design, implement, and optimize building automation systems that control various commercial systems including HVAC, lighting, and access control. The engineer will optimize control sequences to reduce energy consumption and increase facility wide energy efficiency.

Essential Position Functions

  • Assists engineering and project teams with design, programming, and commissioning of building automation systems.
  • Writes and optimizes building automation control sequences to reduce energy consumption and increase facility efficiency.
  • Assists project teams with the creation of design and construction documents as they relate to building automation systems and other Veregy technology products.
  • Troubleshoots low voltage circuitry in the field and verifies that functional requirements are met.
  • Responds to and rectifies customer issues or occupant comfort complaints in a timely manner.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or software) from a four-year college or university; or five + years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 plus years in building automation system design and implementation required.
  • Chilled water systems knowledge preferred.
  • Distech, Reliable Controls, or Honeywell experience required.
  • Tridium Niagara AX / N4 certification required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with at least one CAD or 3D modeling software required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Veregy’s services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
  • Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.), is required.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time/workload.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability tomulti-task.
  • Ability to collaborate with other engineers or clients to methodically solve complex problems.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and staff.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to innovate with new processes and energy efficient systems.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully negotiate priorities with end users.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Tridium Niagara AX / N4 certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
