Job summary

Veregy is seeking a Software Engineer to quickly learn our technology products and building automation solutions. You will design, implement, and optimize software applications that improve client energy and operational efficiency, using Python, Javascript, and cloud services.

The role focuses on analyzing user needs, developing robust software, and collaborating with project teams on design and construction documents related to software solutions. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related field
• 0-3 years in building automation system design & implementation
• 0-3 years in software development

Responsibilities

• Analyze user needs and workflows.
• Design, test, and develop software to meet user needs and workflows.
• Identify and recommend upgrades to existing systems and programs.
• Create flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate intended infrastructure workflows.
• Document design decisions.
• Analyze large amounts of data and build data pipelines to enrich user experience
• Develop custom machine learning approaches to digest large data sets and recommend operational improvements.
• Assist engineering and project teams with design, programming, and commissioning of software solutions.
• Assist project teams with the creation of design and construction documents related to software solutions.
• Respond to and rectify customer issues or occupant comfort complaints in a timely manner

Summary of Position Functions

The Software Engineer will quickly gain an understanding and working knowledge of Veregy’s technology products and building automation solutions. The engineer will utilize this understanding to design, implement, and optimize software applications meant to improve client energy and operational efficiency. The engineer will leverage knowledge of various programming languages to develop software programs and ensure software is robust and functional.

Essential Position Functions

• Analyze user needs and workflows.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical, or Software or related field
• 0-3 years in building automation system design and implementation.
• 0-3 years in software development.

• Excellent written, verbal, and diplomatic communication skills
• Strong collaborative skills; ability to collaborate with other engineers to methodically solve complex problems.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products and experience with at least one CAD or 3D modeling software

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Experience with Python, Javascript, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
