Job summary

Three Notch Group in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Engineer II to deliver high-quality, constructable engineering and design documents. You will work under licensed Professional Engineers to support planning, design, documentation, and field activities while expanding technical independence.

The ideal candidate has a solid engineering foundation and aims for Professional Engineer licensure, with opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering required or equivalent.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) registration preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with client communication and participate in client and public meetings as needed.
• Prepare engineering plans, reports, specifications, design documents, studies, permits, and construction documents using engineering software.
• Review construction sites to monitor project progress and support project requirements in accordance with contract documents.
• Take responsibility for assigned quality-control activities and ensure work complies with applicable project and practice quality standards.
• Define technical problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Coordinate with project managers and practice leaders regarding schedules, budgets, resource needs, and project requirements.
• Manage time effectively to complete assignments within established project schedules and budgets.
• Participate in professional-development activities, certifications, industry involvement, and continuing education opportunities.
