Nebraska Public Power District has an immediate opening for a Engineer I - V (Instrument and Control) - CNS located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska. Position closes November 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time or until filled.
The Engineer (Instrument and Control) position supports customer and supplier communication, provides technical assistance to station staff, and contributes to the safe and reliable operation of Cooper Nuclear Station. An Engineer (Instrument & Control) performs trending, evaluation, and application of standard engineering techniques while supporting equipment reliability, system performance, and plant modifications. Typical assignments involve engineering analyses, problem-solving, and technical support for the optimum operation and maintenance of station systems. The position works collaboratively with field employees, technicians, engineers, and other stakeholders.
This position may be assigned responsibilities within the Emergency Response Organization (ERO). Continued employment requires the ability to report to the station within 45 minutes of notification when activated.
Note: Engineer I–V is a progression governed by the NPPD Nuclear Engineering Career Path and is subject to manager approval.

Engineer Level III: Exempt Pay Grade 14: $8,720 - $11,231 per month
Engineer Level IV: Exempt Pay Grade 15: $10,006 - $12,887 per month
Engineer Level V: Exempt Pay Grade 16: $11,480 - $14,785 per month
Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska) Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
