ANS is seeking a Structural Engineer I to join our growing structural team in Raleigh and work on foundations, steel structures, and other structures for renewable energy projects (PV, BESS, HV). Under close supervision and mentorship, you’ll gain hands-on experience in analysis and design.
You will apply industry codes such as ASCE and IBC, develop structural drawings with designers, use Excel and risk tools like RISA, and pursue EIT/FE licensure.

As a Structural Engineer I, youll join our growing structural engineering team as an early-career engineer. Working under close supervision and mentorship, youll support the analysis and design of foundations, steel structures, and other structures for a diverse range of renewable energy projects (PV, BESS, HV).
Under the direction of senior engineers, perform structural analysis and design for foundations (driven piles, screw and helical piles, and cast-in-place concrete), overhead steel structures, building envelopes, and non-building structures.
Apply industry codes and standards 0 including ASCE 7, IBC, NESC, ASCE 113, IEEE 693, and NFPA to assigned tasks with guidance.
Adhere to applicable Client, EPC, Owner, and Utility standards on all assigned work.
Support the development of structural drawings and details with designers and the civil design team, including inputs to foundation BOMs.
Use engineering software (Excel and RISA; VBA and Python a plus) to complete and document calculations.
Perform self-checks, document work clearly, and build toward EIT/FE licensure.
A bachelors degree in structural, civil, or related engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
0+ years of experience; internship or co-op experience a plus. EIT/FE optional but encouraged.
Foundational understanding of structural analysis and design principals.
Familiarity with structural analysis software (RISA or similar) and Excel; VBA and Python a plus.
Strong attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and ability to follow direction.
