Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and digital multimeters.
  • Programming or scripting experience (Python, C/C++, VBA, etc.) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated individual contributor with the ability to work proactively in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong teamwork, organization, multitasking, communication, and active listening skills.
  • Technical writing and editing experience with the ability to create clear engineering documentation.

  • Support new product introduction from silicon bring-up through production release.
  • Perform product characterization, qualification, and yield analysis.
  • Develop and maintain automated test solutions and test programs.
  • Analyze electrical and manufacturing data to identify and resolve product issues.
  • Collaborate with design, validation, quality, reliability, and manufacturing teams.
  • Drive improvements in product quality, test efficiency, and manufacturing performance.

Job Description

Microchip Technology Inc. has an Engineer I-Product/Test opening in the Networking & Connectivity Solutions (NCS) Business Unit in our Austin, TX office. In this role, you will help develop, characterize, qualify, and release industry-leading connectivity products including Ethernet, USB, and PCIe solutions while working with global cross‑functional teams. This is an exciting opportunity to launch your career in semiconductor product development and work on next‑generation networking and connectivity technologies.
