Job summary

RTX's Dallas Airfoil Repair Operation (DARO) based in Grand Prairie, TX seeks a Process Engineer to support repair operations and collaborate with multi-discipline teams to develop new repair or process capabilities on turbine hardware using approved technical data.

You will analyze production data, review opportunities for process improvements, update operation sheets, and represent DARO in forums with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Experience in reading and interpreting technical data, repair manuals, schematics and blueprints.
• Organizational and project management skills; PMP certification preferred.
• LEAN, Six-Sigma or CORE training and experience.
• Experience with SAP ERP and Solumina MES or similar Engine Maintenance System.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations and mitigate engineering-related issues, including dispositioning discrepant material and improving productivity.
• Analyze production data for new repair development and provide reports to customers.
• Review opportunities for process improvements and implement steps to incorporate them.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure repairs meet safety, durability and quality requirements.
• Research new technology/methodologies and review implementation scope for growth projects.
• Update operation sheets or create new ones for new processes.
• Represent DARO at internal and external forums with customers.

This Process Engineer position is with the Dallas Airfoil Repair Operation (DARO) based in Grand Prairie and or Arlington in Texas. Engineer in this position is responsible for supporting repair operations as well as working with multi discipline teams to develop new repair or process capabilities on turbine hardware using approved technical data.

What You Will Do

• Support daily operations and mitigate any issue related to engineering that includes but not limited to dispositioning discrepant material, improving productivity, expanding capabilities to enable business growth, and carrying out root cause failure analysis.
• Analyze production data for new repair development as well as provide reports to customers as required.
• Review opportunities for process improvements based on experience and implement steps to incorporate such improvements.
• Participate in a multi-disciplined team to understand repair design requirements and ensure repairs are safe, durable, and meet the quality requirements in compliance with approved technical data.
• Research new technology and methodologies and review the scope of implementation as part of growth projects or review the machine/equipment procurement process.
• Update operation sheets based on production requirements or create new ones for introducing new processes.
• Represent DARO at various forums with internal and external customers.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Prior RTX internship, co-op or work experience
• Experience in Disassembly, Assembly and Test (DAT) or Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environments supporting aircraft engines or similar aerospace systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical data, repair manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Organizational and project management skills, PMP certification preferred.
• LEAN, Continuous Improvement, and/or CORE, Six-Sigma training and experience.
• Experience with SAP ERP and Solumina MES or similar Engine Maintenance System

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
