Job summary

K&A Power Group in Oakbrook, IL is seeking an Engineer I to join our team. You will work on design and surveying projects for power utility clients, perform field surveys, prepare CAD drawings, and coordinate with stakeholders. Up to date GPS/GIS and SAP knowledge is preferred, with travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to review plans, specs, and regulatory standards (OSHA).
• Experience with electrical overhead/underground distribution.
• Knowledge of GPS, GIS systems, and SAP is required.

Responsibilities

• Determine customer needs and prepare feasibility studies with conceptual design and cost estimates.
• Develop final design, cost estimates and schedules; prepare equipment specifications.
• Prepare AutoCAD drawings for bidding/awards; perform field surveys and stakeouts.
• Coordinate with customers, contractors, utilities, and municipalities; obtain permits.
