K&A Power Group in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Engineer I to join our team and work on challenging projects in the energy and utility sectors. You will lead design for distribution systems, review drawings, and provide technical oversight in a dynamic, people-focused environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration, adherence to standards, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions. A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of power industry experience are required, with a daily office

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university is required.
• 5+ years of experience in power utility industry or related field.
• Experience with Maximo, BOUD, SEDS, and Poleforeman.
• Ability to follow prescribed standards and procedures.
• Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must report to the Charlotte, NC office daily.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and design services for medium voltage (1kV to 35kV) overhead and underground power distribution systems.
• Perform scope analyses and maintain schedule adherence to client priorities.
• Review and prepare engineering-quality drawings for construction.
• Provide technical oversight to solve complex problems with minimal supervision.
• Review field notes and designs for quality and coordinate issue resolution with stakeholders.
• Assist with pole loading analysis and equipment sizing for residential and commercial projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
