Job summary

The Mosaic Company seeks an Engineer I to provide technical support to plant operations and lead front-end engineering for capital projects. You will contribute to cross-site assignments, drive plant optimization, and assist with commissioning and project start-up.

Bachelor’s in engineering is required; familiarity with MS Office, data historians, AutoCAD, and Primavera is a plus. On-site roles across Florida facilities present with safety and environmental responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, Industrial, Civil).
• Proficiency in MS Office products and data historians (PI/OSISoft).
• Excellent written and communication skills interfacing with management.
• Must demonstrate ability to influence others; strong leadership and teamwork.
• Coordinate design, procurement, and construction for integration of technical content and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide plant process engineering support to operations, including optimization and troubleshooting.
• Leverage resources across plant sites for cross-site initiatives.
• Evaluate options, develop preliminary designs, and assess economic and risk factors.

Are You Our Next Engineer?

The Engineer I provides technical support primarily to plant operations groups and responsible for front-end engineering development of capital projects. Serves as an active contributor to Mosaic cross-site and/or cross-functional assignments and initiatives. Frequently assigned to high-profile projects, support assignments, and initiatives.

What Will You Do?

• Provide plant process engineering support to the operations group, including plant optimization, troubleshooting, efficiency improvement, problem solving, and problem prevention.
• Leverage ideas and assistance including resources across plant sites.
• Plan and identify business objectives by evaluating viable options, preliminary design development, and preliminary economic and risk mitigation evaluation.
• Provide commission and start-up support for assigned projects.
• Support current business initiatives, such as specific problem-solving projects or improvement activities involving multiple sites.
• Ensure site safety and environmental standards are being followed through safety audits, risk assessments, and housekeeping tours.
• Report any issues that can impact the environment or the safety of the employees.

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, Industrial, Civil)
• Proficiency in MS Office products, PI/OSISoft products or similar data historian, added benefit if the experience is with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project/Primavera (or similar software) experience.
• Excellent written and communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of management.
• Must demonstrate ability to influence others; requires strong leadership qualities, and team building.
• Manage and control project costs and schedule by ensuring that effective project controls are in place and functioning properly.
• Providing coordination between design, procurement, and/or construction for integration of technical content and schedule activities

Engineer I

• 0-2 years of related experience in engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management

Bonus Points If You Have The Following

• SAP/Maximo application experience
• Industrial chemical plant or mining facility project management experience
